Update model

The RSS feed is the cleanest official change signal USCIS exposes publicly.

The old site depended on endpoints that are now blocked to normal server-side requests. This rebuild treats the USCIS data-library RSS feed as the authoritative index of new reports, downloads the linked XLSX files locally, overlays the official USCIS historical factsheet for select annual trendlines, and rebuilds a static snapshot you can deploy directly.

RSS feed verified

The official USCIS Immigration and Citizenship Data feed is live and currently indexes 250 reports.

Current API blocked

Server-side fetches to egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/api/forms return a Cloudflare block, so they are no longer the primary data path.

Hard refresh path

Run npm run build:data to pull the latest official USCIS feed items and rebuild the local dataset before deploy.

Historical medians patched

Select annual medians are refreshed from the USCIS FY2016-FY2024 historical factsheet, which currently covers 16 classifications.
